İzmit İçkale kentsel sit alanı mimari analizi ve koruma önerileri

Abstract

Çok katmanlı bir kent olan İzmit'te ilk yerleşim, İçkale ve çevresinde oluşmuştur. Yerleşim zamanla kent yamaçlarına yayılarak, kale içinde geleneksel doku oluşturmuştur. Kent, hızlı kentleşme ve göç nedeniyle dönüşüm geçirmiştir. Geleneksel yapıların bir kısmı harabe durumdadır. Ayakta kalan yapılar ise fiziksel ve çevresel faktörler nedeniyle özgünlüğünü kaybetme tehlikesi altındadır. Bu nedenle çalışma konusu olarak, 'İçkale ve Çevresi Kentsel Sit Alanı' seçilmiştir. Çalışma kapsamında, sit alanı ve çevresinde bulunan arkeolojik ve doğal sit alanları incelenmiştir. 133 adet geleneksel yapıdan ayakta kalmış olan 103 adet yapıda mevcut durum analizleri yapılmıştır. Ardından Çukurçeşme sokak aksında rölöve ve öneri sokak siluet çizimleri yapılmıştır. Alandaki koruma sorunları belirlenmiş ve koruma önerileri getirilmiştir. Çalışmada birinci bölümde tezin amaç, kapsam ve yöntemi anlatılmıştır. İkinci bölümde; alanın tarihi, sosyokültürel ve ekonomik yapısı, yerleşimi, sokak dokusu, sit alanları ve anıtsal yapıları anlatılmıştır. Üçüncü bölümde; konutların mimari özellikleri anlatılmıştır. Dördüncü bölümde koruma çalışmaları anlatılmıştır. Beşinci bölümde; mevcut durum analizleri ve sentezler anlatılmıştır. Altıncı bölümde; koruma sorunları anlatılmıştır. Yedinci bölümde koruma önerileri anlatılmıştır. Sonuç ve değerlendirme bölümünde; mevcut durum analizleri, sentezler, rölöve ve öneri sokak siluet çizimleri, koruma sorunları ve önerileri değerlendirilerek tartışılmıştır. Çalışma kapsamında alanda yapılan tespit ve önerilerin, alanda yapılacak uygulamalarda yol gösterici bir kaynak olması hedeflenmiştir.

The first settlement in İzmit, which is a multi-layered city, has been formed in and around İçkale. The settlement has spread to the city slopes over time, creating a traditional texture within the castle. The city has been transformed due to rapid urbanization and migration. Some of the traditional buildings are in ruins. The surviving structures are in danger of losing their originality due to physical and environmental factors. For this reason, 'İçkale and Its Surrounding Urban Protected Area' has been chosen as the subject of the study. Within the scope of the study, the archaeological and natural sites in and around the protected area were examined. The current situation analyzes were carried out in 103 buildings, which have survived from 133 traditional buildings. Then, survey and proposal street silhouette drawings were made on Çukurçeşme street axis. Conservation problems in the area were determined and conservation recommendations were made. In the first part of the study, the aim, scope and method of the thesis are explained. In the second part; the historical, socio-cultural and economic structure of the area, its settlement, street texture, protected areas and monumental structures are explained. In the third part; the architectural features of the houses are defined. In the fourth chapter, conservation studies are presented. In the fifth section; current situation analyses and syntheses are explained. In the sixth section; protection issues are expressed. In the seventh chapter, protection recommendations are suggested. In the conclusion and evaluation section; current situation analyses, syntheses, relievo and proposal street silhouette drawings, conservation problems and suggestions are evaluated and discussed. Within the scope of the study, the findings and suggestions made in the field are aimed to be a guiding resource for the future applications.
