Özet

Several types of tool holders have been developed to meet desired specifications in the manufacturing area. In this study, the performance of shrink-fit, hydraulic and precision milling tool holders was investigated in dry end milling of AISI 304 austenitic stainless steel. The study was carried out in different conditions which were three different cutting speeds (100, 150 and 200 m/min). Depth of cut and step over were kept constant as 0.3 mm and 10 mm, respectively. The experiments were conducted to compare the milling force, the nose wear and the surface roughness. The results indicated that shrink-fit tool holder had the better performance than the others.
