Performance Analysis of Energy-Harvesting Full-Duplex Relaying with Multi-Antenna and Cooperative Diversity

dc.description.abstractIn this work, the performance of an energy-harvesting (EH) full-duplex (FD) amplify-and-forward dual-hop network is studied. The network consists of a multi-antenna source (S) and destination (D), and a single transmit and receive antenna EH-FD relay. Transmit antenna selection and maximal-ratio combining (MRC) are employed at S and D, respectively. Signals received through relaying and direct links at D are combined with MRC scheme. Outage probability (OP), bit error rate (BER), asymptotic OP, and BER are studied in Rayleigh fading channels and justified by computer simulations. The results show that the performance of OP and BER improves if the antenna numbers at S and D increase. However, increasing the number of antennas at D brings better OP performance improvement than increasing the number of antennas at S. The error floor at high SNR regions occurs without a DP due to the residual self-interference (SI) nature of the FD mode. Including a direct path significantly improves OP performance, minimizing the deteriorating effects of SI. © 2024 Elsevier B.V., All rights reserved.
