Özet
Geographic data infrastructure (GDI) initiatives commonly use the Unified Modeling Language (UML) of model-driven architecture (MDA) and Geospatial Web services (GWS) for publishing geographic data. Ontologies have also been employed for constructing GDI in recent years and the linked data approach can be used for publishing geographic data. This study aims to examine MDA and linked data approaches in modelling and publishing geographic data sets with the example of the administrative units of Turkey. It has been concluded that the linked data approach provides more opportunities for semantic interoperability and enables more reusable and accessible administrative unit data sets with related data sets on the Web.
