Plastik atıkların yeniden kazanımı ve tüketicilerin yeniden kazanım ile ilgili tutum ve davranışları hakkında bir pilot çalışma

Abstract

Rapid population increase and immigration from rural areas to urban areas experienced since 1960's has caused many environmental problems such as solid wastes. In the developed countries, solid wastes have been kept under control due to economical conditions, higher teconolgy and increase of environmental conscioussness. However, in the developing underdeveloped countries like ours, awry urbanisation models and random solid waste removal methods which are lack of knowladge end technology have been applied causing the cities to be unlivable locations. Recently total solid waste problems have occured in İstanbul, Ümraniye, Diyarbakır and Ankara due to inappropriate storage applications. Developments encountered in the international solid waste removal areas, and increase of puplic claims because of unhealty living conditions in our cities has mobilized local administrations and the other establishments which are responsible for solution of problems. Recently municipalities have entered into a research for proper collection of solid wastes, recovery of recycling, wastes and regular solid waste storage; Metropolitan Cily Municipalities such as in İstanbul, İzmir, İzmit, Bursa and Gaziantep has installed big solid waste removal plants that are of foreign origin financially and technologically. However, during operation of these plants which have been constructed against considarable financial costs to render service on local basis, failures in the removal system organisation have caused big problems since waste removal costs are high and legal basis supporting local waste model do not exist. Problems experienced in the solid waste management system has brought the necessity for discussing the subjectmatter in more detail and in the scientific way and for prioritizing the local technologies complied with our country's economical conditions and for informing the waste producers and establishments which are responsible for waste removal. Particularly, givingVII priority to the local tecnologies in the regular storage and recovery plants, waste removal plants can be made much more economical for municipalities. This thesis consists of five chapters. In the first chapter: The solution of enviromental problems, the causes of solid waste problems.theories of recovery, recycle and reuse. İn the second chapter: Waste plastics stay in the earth without disintegration and decation because of their specific volume and life cycle assessment characteristics. In the third chapter: Solid waste management of USA and developed west Europe countries. In the fourth chapter: The last position of the waste management in Turkey. In the fifth chapter, the name of the investing company is Yeşil Plastik Geri Dönüşüm Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş. limited liablity company incorporated under the commerical laws of the government of Turkey and a public survery was made in the Körfez Region in Kocaeli. Lastly recommandatons were offered according to the obtained data and their results in the last chapter.
