Özet

Eleven major functions in human body are performed by the muscular system. These are posture, stability, mobility, digestion, respiration, circulation, vision, birth, urination, temperature adjustment and organ protection. Temperature rises in the tissues beyond 45 degrees C can induce irreparable tissue damage, despite the fact that muscles serve a variety of functions in the body like temperature control. To make an in-vitro research on the temperature impacts created by a low-level laser source on a muscle phantom is thus a very important. In the present work, using a DBK83 temperature monitoring system with T-type ultra-thin thermocouples on a muscle phantom, the temperatures of a low-power laser with a maximum power of 400 mW on the thermocouples inside the phantom at different distances and times relative to the phantom surface were explored. On the basis of temperature values, the findings were appraised in terms of the laser's appropriateness for low-level laser therapy.
