When many dielectric cylinders with arbitrary cross-sections are illuminated by an electromagnetic plane wave with no Hz component and the incidence direction has no longitudinal component, the scattering algorithm is equivalent to searching for solutions to two-dimensional (2D) homogenous Helmholtz equation. The solution offered by the Regularized T-Matrix algorithm for such a problem can be further extended to the cases where the scatterer has anti-iso-refractive (AIR) double negative (DNG) material parameters where the scattering field polarization is decoupled under oblique incidence. Elements of the regularization of the two arbitrary cross-sections cylindrical scatterer solution in comparison with integral equation formulations and its potential for acceleration by the Fast Multipole Method (FMM) for a multitude of such scatterers are demonstrated. © 2023 Elsevier B.V., All rights reserved.
