Crystal Structures of 2-Chloro-3-((3-(trifluoromethyl)phenyl)amino)naphthalene-1,4-dione and 2-Chloro-3-((4-(trifluoromethyl)phenyl)amino)naphthalene-1,4-dione

Abstract

2-Chloro-3-((3-(trifluoromethyl)phenyl)amino)naphthalene-1,4-dione (1) and 2-chloro-3-((4-(trifluoromethyl)phenyl)amino)naphthalene-1,4-dione (2) were obtained according to the method reported previously. The crystal structures of both compounds were determined by the single crystal X-ray diffraction method. The molecules are non-planar: torsion angles around the N-C(naphthoquinone) bond are 32.62 degrees and 30.61 degrees for 1 and 2, respectively. In both crystals, hydrogen bonds N-H center dot center dot center dot O and N-H center dot center dot center dot Cl exist.
