Emniyet liderliğinin güvenlik performansına etkisinde emniyet ikliminin aracı rolü: Uçuş personeli üzerinde bir araştırma

Abstract

Güvenlik, örgütlerin olası ekonomik ve sosyal maliyetlerin önüne geçebilmesi için dikkat etmesi gereken çok önemli bir husus olarak öne çıkmaktadır. Özellikle havayolu taşımacılığı için güvenlik, sektöre özgü risklerin de mevcut olması sebebiyle ehemmiyet verilmesi gereken temel konu durumundadır. Bu sebeple, güvenlik performansı üzerinde etkili faktörlerin belirlenmesi elzemdir. Liderler, örgütün amaçlarına ulaşabilmesinde etkin rol oynayan, bu doğrultuda diğerlerine öncülük eden ve onları motive eden kişiler olduğundan, liderlik her örgüt açısından yüksek performansın temel belirleyicilerinden birisidir. Buradan hareketle, güvenlik performansını etkileyen başlıca faktörün liderlik olabileceği söylenebilir. Ancak literatürde, havayolu taşımacılığı sektörü için emniyet liderliği ve güvenlik performansı arasındaki ilişkiyi araştıran herhangi bir çalışma olmadığı tespit edilmiştir. Bu çalışmanın amacı, emniyet liderliğinin güvenlik performansı üzerindeki etkisini emniyet iklimi araclığıyla incelemektir. Bu doğrultuda 284 uçuş personelinden anket yoluyla veri toplanmıştır. Elde edilen verilere geçerlilik ve güvenilirlik analizleri uygulanmıştır. Ardından araştırma hipotezlerini test etmek üzere Yapısal Eşitlik Modeli (YEM) kullanılmıştır.Security stands out as a very important issue that organizations should pay attention to prevent possible economic and social costs. Especially for airline transport, safety is the main issue that should be given importance due to the existence of sector-specific risks. For this reason, it is essential to determine the factors affecting safety performance. Leadership is one of the main determinants of high performance for every organization, as leaders are the people who play an active role in achieving the goals of the organization, leading and motivating others in this direction. From this point of view, it can be said that the main factor affecting safety performance may be leadership. However, it has been observed that there is no study in the literature investigating the relationship between safety leadership and safety performance with the moderator effect of safety climate within the air transportation industry. The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of safety leadership on safety performance with moderator effect of safety climate. Accordingly, data were collected from 284 flight personnel through questionnaires. Validity and reliability analyzes were made with the obtained data. Then, the Structural Equation Model (SEM) was used to test the research hypotheses.
