Mimarlık üzerinden kentsel imge üretimi: Ankara tren garı örneği

Abstract

Makro ölçekli kent, dokusunu oluşturan yapıların sunduğu ayrımlarla kentli tarafından çözümlenir. Bu okumalar, yapıların imge değeri üzerinden gerçekleşir. Kent imgesi yapılar, kenti temsil etme saiki ile üretilirken, yönetsel ve ekonomik erkin temsil alanını ve entelektüel erkin mesleki bağlamda ifade alanını oluşturur. İmgenin, inşa edildiği anda bağlamdan kopmasıyla, kent imgesi, gerçekliğin yan anlamlarıyla yeni imgeler üretir. İmge ve alıcısı arasındaki anlatılan-anlam ilişkisi, zamanla birbirini yeniden üreten sarmal bir sürece dönüşür. Endüstri Devrimi'nin kültürel mirasları arasında olan tren garları, kentin ruhunu içeren kent imgeleridir. Türkiye'de, Cumhuriyet'in de imgesi olan Ankara Garı'nın mimarisi üzerinden, kentliye modern hayatın değerleri sunularak toplumsal dönüşümün sağlanması hedeflenmiştir. 2016'da, Ankara Yüksek Hızlı Tren Garı'nın (ATG) inşası, Ankara Garı'nın mekânsal ve anlamsal bütünlüğünü parçalayıcı bir süreç başlatmış ve Ankara Garı'nın tarihsel önemini, anlamlarını, toplumla kurduğu bağı yok saymıştır. ATG'nin tasarım kararları, Ankara Garı'nı anlam kaybına uğratırken, ATG'yi en baştan anlamsızlaştırmaktadır. Tez kapsamında, bu sorunsal irdelenmektedir.Macro-scale city is analyzed by the urbanite with regard to distinctive characters of the structures that constitute its urban fabric. These readings operate through the image value of the structures. While city-image buildings are produced with the purpose of representing city; they are also representation areas of administrative and economic power, and, expression fields of intellectual power in the context of profession. While the image breakes away from its context as soon as it is constructed, the image of city produces novel images with connotations of reality. The narrative-meaning relationship between the image and its perceiver turns into a spiral process that reproduces each other over time. As the cultural heritage spaces of the Industrial Revolution, railway stations are city images that contain the spirit of the city. In Turkey, a social transformation is aimed through the presentation of the values of modern life to citizens, via the architecture of Ankara Train Station, which is also considered as an image of the republic itself. In 2016, the construction of the Ankara High Speed Train Station (ATG) started a process that shatters the spatial and semantic integrity of the Ankara Station and ignored the historical significance, meanings and connection it established with the society. While the ATG's design decisions make Ankara Station lose meaning, these decisions make the ATG itself meaningless from the very beginning. Within the scope of the thesis, this problematic is examined.
