Özet
The research presents the effect of nano-Ni particles and different oxides (ZrO2 and Cr2O3) addition on the wear behaviour of Al2O3 to assess these ceramic composites' performance as a cutting tool material based on densification and hardness properties. The heterogeneous precipitation production procedure was used to fabricate the nano metal including composites. The wear tests were carried out by ball on flat linear reciprocating technique with Al2O3 ball as the counter face. The results showed the importance of high densification and homogenously densified samples on the wear resistance of the materials. The highest wear resistance was obtained in 1vol%Ni+5vol%ZrO2 containing Al2O3 (ANZ) composites with the highest densification and hardness.
