The electrocaloric effect is an important and exciting phenomenon for the development of solid-state cooling technologies. However, the effect brings complex relationships between processing parameters, material composition, and performance. This complexity emphasizes the importance of systematic optimization. This thesis fills that gap by using the data-driven materials science approach and machine learning to reveal the correlations, predict, and optimize the electrocaloric behavior. Comprehensive datasets have been created from the published studies in the literature and machine learning model trained to accurately predict the adiabatic temperature change. SHAP analysis showed the important features and trend that are dominant in the specific system. Bayesian optimization frameworks were used to search and find the best possible set of processing parameters that increases the electrocaloric response under different constraints. Virtual datasets have been generated, and predictive contour maps are created to find the high-performance areas. This thesis shows that the data-driven materials science and machine learning can reveal and recognize the hidden patterns and guide the researchers for achieving high-performance materials.
