Özet

Cyclones which are useful to separate particles from particle-gas mixture by spinning movement of centrifugal forces, are stationary pieced devices, main advantages of Cyclones are that they are simple and also operate under heavy conditions such as high temperature and high pressure. However, it is the disadvantage that for the particles whose size is less than 5 mu m, collection efficiency is low. From an engineering point of view, there are two important parameters in Cyclones. They are the cyclone pressure loss and particle collection efficiency. One of them, cyclone pressure loss has got economically importance since cyclone pressure loss effects fan power. Cyclone pressure losses occur in cyclone inlet cross-section, cyclone inner wall, and cyclone vent pipe. In this study, the effect of vent pipe diameter changing in tangential inlet reverse flow cyclones on pressure drop is investigated experimentally.
