A numerically efficient method for investigation of two-dimensional (2D) boundary value problem of electromagnetic wave diffraction in longitudinal direction imperfectly conductive cylinder of arbitrary smooth cross section was suggested. The method was based on generalization of analytical regularization method. Several qualitatively different cases were also considered, which could be qualified as regular perturbation of Neumann boundary value problem (BVP). The initial boundary value problem was reduced to a few different algebraic systems in l<inf>2</inf> of the kind (I+H)x=b. © 2008 Elsevier B.V., All rights reserved.
