Özet
Wind turbine design has advanced significantly in terms of its size and type in recent years. However, Conventional conical steel towers are predominantly used as a main structural system for wind turbine towers. However, to transport the tower to construction site seems to be a major issue. This study investigates the use of square cross-sections for wind turbine towers for different thickness and height as an alternative to circular cross-sections. Vortex shedding is also considered in the analyses.
