Abstract

Modern diş hekimliğinde, reçine esaslı kompozitlerin dünya çapında kullanımı cıva amalgamlarının yerini almaya devam etmektedir. Bu eğilimin en önemli nedenleri kompozit reçinelerin estetik özellikleri ve toksik olmayışlarıdır. Restorasyonların kullanım ömrü cıva amalgamları için ortalama 12 yıl iken kompozitler için 7 yıldır. Kompozit reçinelerin uzun ömürlülüğü ve özellikle aşınma direnci gibi mekanik özelliklerinin artırılması ile ilgili birçok çalışma vardır. Bu çalışmalar ağırlıklı olarak reçine sistemin dolgu malzemesi bileşenindeki değişiklikleri içermektedir.

In modern dentistry, the worldwide use of resin-based composites continues to replace mercury amalgams. The most important reasons for this are the aesthetic properties of composite resins and their non-toxicity. The lifespan of the restorations is 12 years for mercury amalgams and 7 years for composites. Numerous studies have been carried out to improve the longevity of composite resins, especially mechanical properties such as wear resistance. These studies mainly involve changes in the filler material component of the resin system.
