Özet
Only the life safety and collapse prevention in general earthquake resistant design philosophy are explicitly prevented in seismic design codes. Results obtained from the recent studies have enabled some major changes in seismic design codes for the general EQ-RD philosophy to be accomplished and in evaluating the seismic performance of existing structures. Estimating the seismic demands at low performance levels requires the consideration of inelastic behavior of the structure. This paper is intended to compare nonlinear dynamic time history and pushover analyses results on 3-, 9-, and 20-story steel moment resisting frames. The results in this study show that prediction of damage in structures is hard to estimate by means of push-over analysis.
