Carbon-encapsulated iron-cementite magnetic nanoparticles (MNPs) have attracted great attention in the scientific community due to their wide range of applications and ease of production. The production of cementite nanoparticles is mostly done by the chemical vapor deposition (CVD) method in the literature. Unlike this method, studies have begun to be carried out with the pyrolysis method because it is simple, fast, and repeatable. This study aims to perform the structural and magnetic characterization of Fe/Fe3C structures produced at different temperatures using solid-state pyrolysis. With this method, 6 different samples were produced in 45 minutes at 700-750-800-850-900 and 1000 ºC. The production of Fe/Fe3C nanoparticles could not be achieved with a proper crystal structure at 700?C and 750?C besides, at higher pyrolysis temperatures, appropriate structuring occurred, and carbon nanotubes decorated with Fe/Fe3C particles were formed. Phase analyses were performed by XRD and Rietveld Refinement, and iron oxide structures were observed at 700 ?C and 750 ?C. Magnetization measurements were first made using magnetic field-dependent magnetization measurement, and hysteresis curves compatible with ferromagnetic nanoparticles were recorded with a SQUID magnetometer. In the temperature dependence magnetization measurement, in addition to Curie Temperature effect, the decomposition of Fe3C and phase formation took a role in magnetization changes. Magnetization originating separately from iron and cementite was analyzed, and mass ratios were calculated. It was seen that the mass ratios calculated from magnetization and the mass ratios calculated with XRD were compatible with each other.
