Özet
In this study, the performance of reconfigurable intelligent surfaces (RIS) with antenna selection is examined. To address this, transmit antenna selection (TAS) and joint transmit and receive antenna selection (JTRAS) techniques are employed to analyze the system under a Rayleigh fading channel. In RIS-based systems, phase estimation processes introduce disadvantages such as complexity, high power consumption, and high cost. Therefore, reducing the number of surfaces emerges as a significant optimization problem. By increasing the number of antennas used, the number of RIS surfaces is aimed to reduce while achieving a predetermined performance level. The obtained results are presented through Monte Carlo simulations. The proposed antenna selection approaches enhance the efficient use of RIS. © 2025 Elsevier B.V., All rights reserved.
