Deformations occur under the various dynamic effects on the earth andbuildings. One of the most important deformation types is landslide. In this study,GPS measurements were evaluated, and later compared with inclinometers andpiezometers data, for İstanbul Ambarlı Harbor, a potential landslide site. Strainparameters were computed using GPS data. In the computations, since GPSmeasurements of 8th and 10th periods have different datums. The S-Transformationis applied to convert the GPS measuremets to the same datum. In the estimation ofstrains the Chen model is applied to the data set. Maximum and minimum principalstrain, direction of maximum principal strain, field deformation, and total slidevalues were computed through a developed MATLAB program. Maximum principalstrain results were demonstrated with figures. As a result it is determined that theresults produced with GPS measurements and inclinometer data were harmonious, and significant strain accumulation occured in the study area.
