Development of the Resampling Algorithm in Particle Filters Using Greedy Approach

Abstract

The problem of tracking targets precisely is important both in military and civilian applications. There are different approaches to tracking goals precisely. Particle filters have been used frequently for this purpose in recent years. Different resampling algorithms are proposed to reduce the estimation error in the particle filters. In this study, a new resampling algorithm is proposed with a greedy approach and the performance of target tracking is evaluated. With this algorithm, the performance of different resampling algorithms with different particle numbers, different noise values and types are compared.
