dc.description.abstractIn this study, a time domain analytical expression is derived for the electric field scattered from PEC objects illuminated by an infinitesimal electric dipole via physical optics (PO). It is assumed that the observer resides at infinity while no limitations on the distance of the illuminating dipole to the scatterer are imposed. The scatterer is modeled with triangular facets. The scalar potential contribution of the dipole on the induced surface currents is not neglected. The efficacy of the derived analytical expression is demonstrated through several numerical examples.
