Türkiye'de 1980-2012 dönemi havacılık verilerinin yapısal kırılma testleriyle analiz edilmesi

Abstract

Havacılık sektörü gerek hızı gerekse kullandığı teknolojik imkânlar nedeniyle Türkiye?de ve dünyada en hızlı büyüyen sektörlerden biri konumunda bulunmaktadır. Türkiye?de son on yılda yaşanan siyasi ve ekonomik değişmelerin havacılık sektörünü de önemli ölçüde etkilendiği düşünülmektedir. Buna karşın geçmiş dönemlerde yapılan yasal değişikliklerin ve alınan siyasi kararlarında havacılık sektörünü olumlu veya olumsuz yönde etkilediği düşünülmektedir. Buna ek olarak havacılık sektörü açık bir sistem özelliği gösterdiğinden dolayı, dış dünyada yaşanan krizlerden, savaşlardan ve terör eylemlerinden en çok etkilenen sektörlerden biri konumunda bulunmaktadır. Bu çalışmada, Türkiye?nin 1980-2012 dönemine ilişkin Devlet Hava Meydanları İşletmesi (DHMİ) tarafından işletilen havaalanlarının; iç ve dış hat yolcu trafiği, iç ve dış hat tüm uçak trafiği, iç ve dış hat yük trafiği değişkenlerine sırasıyla tek ve çift yapısal kırılmayı dikkate alan Zivot Anderews (1992) ve Clemente-Montañés-Reyes (1998) birim kök testleri uygulanmıştır. Yapılan testler doğrultusunda elde edilen ampirik bulgular, anlamlı yapısal kırılmaların varlığına işaret etmektedir.

The aviation industry is one of the fastest growing industries in Turkey and the world due to its speed as well as technological means used in the sector. The political and economic changes in the last decade shown in Turkey are being considered affecting the aviation sector significantly. Whereas legislative changes made and political decisions taken in the past are also being considered affecting the aviation sector positively or negatively. In addition the feature of being an open system, which is demonstrated in the aviation industry, makes it located in the most affected sectors by crises in the outside world, wars and acts of terrorism. In this study, unit root tests of Zivot Anderews (1992) and Clemente-Montañés-Reyes (1998) are applied which considered single and double structural breaks in domestic and international passenger traffic, all domestic and international air plane traffic and domestic and international freight traffic variables respectively for the operated airports by State Airports Authority (DHMI) in Turkey for the period 1980-2012. Empirical findings conducted in presented tests results indicate the existence of significant structural breaks.
