In this study, the production, characterization and gas sensing properties of indium oxide (In2O3) microstructures were investigated by a specific production method. Indium oxide (In2O3) microstructures were produced by hydrothermal production method. In order to obtain the repeatable products, it has been taken care that the distribution of microstructures is homogeneous on the substrate. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and X-ray diffraction (XRD) methods were used for structural characterization processes. Microsensor devices were manufactured by photolithography. Electrical characterization processes and gas detection features were examined as a function of temperature, gas concentrations and applied potential using a measuring system that was specially designed. Measurement of Acetone gas that is an indicator of Diabetes mellitus was performed with indium oxide (In2O3) based microsensor devices. Acetone gas measured in our gas measuring system is in the reference range (1.8-0.5 ppm) considered for the diagnosis of Diabetes.
