Bağlamı ekolojik beden üzerinden üreten dirençli oluş: mikro-oluşlara bağlı tektonik algoritmalar

Abstract

Mimarlıkta bağlamın sabit bir lokasyondan gelen verili değerler yerine üretilebilir olduğunu araştıran bu çalışma, 'ekolojik beden' yaklaşımı ile mimarlığın dirençli oluş stratejilerini açığa çıkarmayı hedeflemektedir. Belirli bir probleme uygun cevabı sunmak yerine, mimarlığı beklenmedik olana açan, mimari ürünü 'tasarım nesnesi' olarak değil 'tasarım süreci' olarak ele alan bir anlayışla, çalışmada 'ekolojik beden'; 'tasarım sürecinde ortam olma', 'sistemi üretme' ve 'tektonik bir canlılık üretme' halleri ile mimari üretimin nasıl canlı bir beden gibi davranacağı sorularını açmaktadır. Çalışmada tasarım yoluyla araştırma yöntemleri geliştirilerek, deneysel bir yöntem kullanılmıştır; Rhino/Grasshopper ile davranışın algoritmasını modellemeyi sağlayan 'algoritmik varyasyon', modelin 3b basım teknolojisi ile materyale değil materyalin nasıl bir strateji geliştirebildiğine odaklanan 'operatif materyalizasyon' ve üretken yapay zeka ile hedeflenen davranış kodunu simüle etmeye, olasılıklarını açığa çıkarmaya odaklanan 'operatif simülasyon'. Bu yöntemler ile mikro ölçekte doğaya bakarak, ağaç kovukları ve ruderallerin dirençli davranışları dijital gözlemler eşliğinde araştırılmıştır. Gözlemler sonucunda, hedeflenen (daha önce tezin kapsamı içinde tanımlanan) davranış kodlarına ulaşmanın yanı sıra, beklenmedik ara durumlar da açığa çıkmıştır. Davranış kodları ile ara durumlar arasındaki etkileşim ise mimarlık için alternatif tasarım stratejileri oluşturmaktadır. Bu tasarım stratejileri çoğaltılabilir ve sürekli yeniden oluşabilir şekilde bir kodu ya da tanımı olmadan davranış kodları ile ara durumların birleşimi doğrultusunda davranmaktadır. Bu stratejiler, mimari üretimin yalnızca sonuç odaklı değil, süreç odaklı ve yeniden örgütlenmesini sağlayan operasyonel araçlar olarak konumlanmaktadır. Bağlamın üretilebilir olma hali ise ekolojik bedenin algoritmasının bu stratejiler ile evrimsel bir formasyon oluşturması ile mümkündür. Dolayısıyla, mimari üretimin ekolojik beden üretme halini sağlayan şey algoritmasıdır. Başka bir deyişle, bağlam varsa ilişki vardır, ilişki varsa beden, beden varsa algoritma vardır. Anahtar Kelimeler: Mikro-Bağlam, Mikro Oluş, Ekolojik Beden.This study, which explores the productibility of context in architecture rather than the given values derived from a fixed location, aims to uncover architecture's resilient strategies of becoming through the approach of the 'ecological body.' Rather than offering a suitable answer to a specific problem, this study opens architecture to the unexpected, considering the architectural product as a 'design process' rather than a 'design object.' The 'ecological body' explores how architectural production can behave like a living body through its states of 'being a medium in the design process,' 'producing the system,' and 'producing a tectonic vitality.' The study utilizes an experimental methodology, developing research methods through design: 'algorithmic variation', which enables modelling the algorithm of behaviour with Rhino/Grasshopper; 'operative materialization', which focuses not on the material itself but on how it can develop a strategy; and 'operative simulation', which focuses on simulating the targeted behaviour code and uncovering its possibilities through generative artificial intelligence. Using these methods, we explored the resilient behaviour of tree trunks and ruderals at a micro-scale, using digital observations. As a result of these observations, in addition to achieving the targeted behavioural codes (previously defined within the scope of the thesis), unexpected intermediate states were also revealed. The interaction between behavioural codes and intermediate states creates alternative design strategies for architecture. These design strategies operate through the combination of behavioural codes and intermediate states, without relying on a fixed definition or a prescriptive code, allowing them to be reproducible and continuously re-forming. The producibility of context becomes possible through the evolutionary formation generated by the algorithm of the ecological body via these strategies. These strategies, are positioned as operational instruments that enable architectural production to be reorganized not only as result-oriented, but as a process-oriented and evolutionary practice. Therefore, what enables architectural production to assume the condition of producing an ecological body is its algorithm.
