In the engineering and design of hydraulic pipeline systems, minimizing the risk of vibration-induced failures is a fundamental requirement, particularly in aerospace applications where reliability and safety are paramount. Structural resonance, if not properly addressed, can lead to high-cycle fatigue and eventual system failure. A primary factor influencing vibrational behavior is the rotational frequencies of aero engines, which may excite resonant modes in pipeline structures if they coincide with the natural frequencies. Thus, accurately predicting and controlling these dynamic characteristics is crucial to prevent resonance-induced damage. This study presents a comprehensive analysis of a double-bent pipe configuration subjected to dynamic excitation under two different support conditions: one fully unsupported and the other supported at its midpoint using a cushioned elastic clamp. Both numerical and experimental methods were employed to evaluate the system's modal response. Finite element analyses were conducted using both three-dimensional solid and two-dimensional shell elements. The resulting modal data were validated through experimental shaker tests. The first three natural frequencies and corresponding mode shapes were compared in detail across all approaches, showing strong agreement. Furthermore, damping ratios for both configurations were determined using the half-power bandwidth (3 dB) method, offering valuable insight into the system's dynamic behavior. The findings highlight the significance of passive vibration control through mechanical support, particularly in modifying modal properties and reducing resonance risk. This research contributes to a broader understanding of vibrational dynamics in pipeline systems and offers practical design strategies for engineers developing robust fluid transport systems in vibration-sensitive environments such as aerospace platforms.
