In the new and developing technologies, the properties such as mechanical values, lightness, recovery and easy shaping are considered. Especially the choice of light metal has become very popular in recent years due to many reasons. Aluminum and its alloys are other metals, such as other metals with low densities. The use of aluminum and alloys in the shipping, defense, aerospace and automotive industries has been increasing in recent years. Aluminum metal has low wear resistance and low hardness resistance. It reduces the service life of the parts produced and limits their usage areas. To eliminate these disadvantages, different alloying techniques are used or surface replacement processes are used. The Micro Arc Oxidation (MAO) technique, which works with the principle of anodic oxidation, is a preferred method of surface change for aluminum metal. MAO was developed very quickly after the 1980s and this method has been used in industrial sizes. MAO process; It works with the principle of forming an oxide layer on the surface of the material by applying high voltage to the sample in the electrolyte. The coating thickness of the oxide coating layer formed by this method is advantageous over many coating processes in terms of adhesion strength, input cost, environmental contamination and coating porosity. The most striking feature of this method is that it gives very high wear and corrosion resistance to aluminum. In this study, the surfaces of aluminum materials were coated with MAO method. Morphological and mechanical properties of the coating layer were investigated by using different electrical parameters and coating times. In this study, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), coating thickness, XRD, coating porosity measurements, surface roughness, hardness analyzes were performed. As a result of the characterization, coating layers of different structures were determined. The morphological, mechanical and chemical properties of the coating layer were investigated as the anode-cathode pulse stroke times increased and the applied cathodic voltage value changed.
